Background information
ReCollector was founded by Tenna Holdorff Christiansen, anthropologist and designer with a clear goal: to create practical, aesthetic and human solutions for waste sorting in the home. Through conversations with users, she identified a clear lack of products that combined functionality and beautiful design - and thus ReCollector was born.
Tenna contacted Antex Plast with the desire to produce plastic components for its waste sorting solutions in high quality - and with respect for both design and the environment.
The solution
The collaboration was based on a strong design that had to be realized technically without compromising on form, function or choice of materials. At Antex Plast, we advised on material selection, molding, tolerances and finishes so that the design could be realized in a form that was also sustainable and production-friendly.
We chose a plastic type with a high recycling rate and good dimensional stability and today we injection mold the components in Denmark, focusing on low waste, uniform surface and precise assembly.
The result
Today, we manufacture parts for several ReCollector products - solutions that are used in thousands of homes and offices, making it easy and manageable to sort waste without compromising on aesthetics.
The collaboration with ReCollector is a great example of how human-centered design and Danish manufacturing can go hand in hand - for the benefit of both the user and the environment.
